For Him

Painting by Jo White

When she is alone, my wife loves to dance before the Lord as a type of worship. She’s had no formal training and would not sell many tickets in our natural world. In the world that really matters, the Kingdom of God, which is far greater and more expansive than we can even dream of here on earth, she is a star. In that world, they look at her heart more like the way a parent looks at their child. The same is true when I pray; the Lord and his angels listen as if it’s significant.

To get that standing ovation, I simply need to turn from that which the Lord doesn’t like in my life towards him. The Lord and all of heaven look at my heart and cheer me on to do all for him.

  1. It’s just that easy, and sometimes, just that difficult. But we have such a gracious God that leads us in this.

Great post, Don. And love that your wife dances for the Lord. Reminds me of David and his childlike love for God.

    1. Thank you, Ericka. If I were more courageous, I would follow Jo’s and David’s example and dance before the Lord, too. I have had more practice at repentance than I have at dancing.

  9. Babies and young children dance spontaneously to rhythmic sounds and music until the world makes them self conscience. Your wife’s artistic talent must spill into her passion to dance. Thanks for sharing her! 🙂

    1. She is. She took up painting at age 69 but has always been creative in many other ways. She is self-taught and still in her experimental stage, trying to discover what the Lord might have her do with her art.
