(1-minute read)
On occasion, I have doubts. I want to be a man of faith, but doubts occasionally come. I hate the way they feel. It seems so wrong. Doubt by itself is not a sin. In the case of doubting Thomas, Jesus did not rebuke Thomas. Thomas didn’t repent because Thomas wanted to believe. As terrible as it feels, doubt is helpful in our walk with the Lord.
I used to have a job where I traveled a great deal. As it turned out, my wife wanted a relationship that was more than me putting money in the bank or giving gifts. She wanted a relationship where we shared our lives with each other. I guess she got that idea from the Lord; he seems to feel the same way. Just as we replenish the oxygen in our body by breathing, we replenish our faith, hope, and love by spending time with the Lord. The Lord doesn’t need us to do things for him; he wants us to do things with him.
